Walmart to Take on Google Stadia, Microsoft Project xCloud With Its Own Game Streaming Service

Image
As per recent reports, Walmart is in talks with game developers and publishers to launch a game streaming platform of its own. Details however, are scant, with nothing more than Walmart's push into the video games industry (aside from being a games retailer) being restricted to streaming alone.
The company has been in talks with developers and publishers since the beginning of this year so there's a distinct possibility that this is still in early stages.

"Multiple sources familiar with Walmart's plans, who wish to remain anonymous, confirmed to USG [US Gamer] that the retail giant is exploring its own platform to enter in the now-competitive video game streaming race," reads a report from US Gamer.
"No other details were revealed other than it will be a streaming service for video games, and that Walmart has been speaking with developers and publishers since earlier this year and throughout this year's Game Developers Conference."Get-Now

Ahad Nizam, who filed the public interest litigation through his mother, said the game promotes violence, aggression and cyber-bullying.  "The petition has also sought a direction to the central government to form an Online Ethics Review Committee for periodical checking of such violence-oriented online content," petitioner's lawyer Tanveer Nizam said. The court should direct the Maharashtra government to ban it, the PIL said. Earlier, a students union from Jammu and Kashmir as well as National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had also asked for a ban on the game.It is likely to come up for hearing before a division bench headed by Chief Justice NH Patil. Driveclub Is the Most Played PS4 Racing Game

Image
PS4-exclusive Driveclub is the most played PS4 game with close to 10.5 million players. This dwarfs racing mainstays like Need For Speed and GT Sport with 9.46 million players and 6.6 million players respectively.

According to a statement Sony has given GamesIndustry.biz this was due to restructuring of its European studios.
The source for this is the Gamstat trophy tracking page, borne out of Sony's My PS4 Life tool which let out more information than Sony or its partners would have liked.
It's easy to point at Driveclub being free for PS Plus subscribers between June 25 to October 6 back in 2015, it's staggering to see a game that was critically-panned for launching it a poor state to be played by so many.
The developers behind them have banded together to form a new game studio called Wushu Studios. Some of its talent consists of studio founder Alan McDermott (former Evolution Studios, PlayStation), design director Nigel Kershaw (former Evolution Studios, PlayStation, Deep…
